PATNA: Income Tax (IT) officials today raided the house of Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi’s cousin sister in Patna in connection with the Srijan scam.
The scam involves alleged transfer of huge government money to the account of a Non-Government Organsiation (NGO) in alleged connivance with the officials holding key positions.
As per reports, the IT sleuths raided Rekha Modi’s residence in SP Verma locality of the state capital today and searched her home for hours. It’s not known what documents the sleuths seized.
The woman is accused of receiving precious gifts and money from the NGO involved in the scandal. She is alleged to be close to Manorama Devi, former director of the NGO, Srijan Mahila Vikas Sahyog Samiti and got hugely benefitted from the scam money, local media has reported.
Deputy CM has denied any link with her cousin sister saying he doesn’t have any relation with his cousin sister.
