Professor shot dead during morning stroll in Bihar CM’s home district

PATNA: Armed criminals shot dead a college professor while he had gone on morning stroll on Sunday.

The incident took place in Biharsharif, the district headquarters town of Nalanda which is the home district of chief minister Nitish Kumar.

Police said the victim Arvind Kumar, 58, a professor with Pairu Mahto Somari college, was on a morning walk when the miscreants shot him near Elite Hotel, leaving him critically wounded.

He was immediately rushed to a local hospital where he was declared having brought dead.

DIG (central), Patna range, Rajesh Kumar told the local media that a special investigation had been ordered into the incident.
