PATNA: The family and the party members erupted into celebration after RJD chief Lalu Prasad was granted provisional bail for six weeks by the Jharkhand High Court on Friday.
The fresh reprieve comes barely a day after Prasad was granted three-day parole to attend his son’s wedding, thus doubling the happiness in the family and party workers.
The provisional bail was granted by Jharkhand High Court justice Apresh Kumar Singh on medical grounds.
“This is only the beginning of the relief. We have full faith in the court,” commented RJD MP Manoj Jha. He added Prasad would ultimately come out clean.
Another party leader Bhola Yadav said the happiness in the family had got doubled after court’s bail to Prasad.
The wedding of his son which will take place tomorrow (May 12) is expected to be attended by many political bigwigs, including Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi.
A notable absentee on this occasion will be Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi who left for his weeklong foreign tour.
