New Delhi: Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav were granted bail in connection with the land for railway hotel scam by the Patiala House court in Delhi on Friday.
The order came as a relief for Tejashwi, who is leading the RJD in absence of party chief Lalu Prasad, who is serving a jail term of several years, pertaining to the fodder scam cases.
But for the Delhi court denying bail to Prasad family, it would really have created the leadership crisis for the RJD with Prasad himself in jail too. The grant of bail by the court, however, has temporarily saved the RJD from going into that position.
Tejashwi’s corruption case was the reason behind Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) supremo Nitish Kumar’s exit from the grand alliance in 2017.
