PATNA: Authorities in Bihar have suspended a school principal after he forced some 75 children sleep along the busy road in Patna on Tuesday night while they had come on the sight-seeing tour.
All the school children from an upgraded school located in Kotwa block of East Champaran district had been brought to the state capital as part of the Mukhyamantri Bihar Darshan scheme when they got late.
However, instead of lodging them at a safe place, the children were made to sleep along the busy road just outside Patna zoo which is a stone throw from the official residence of the chief minister and the Raj Bhawan.
The matter came to light after the local media highlighted the issue and it was only then that the education department officials woke up and initiated action against school principal Anand Kumar Singh.
Asked by the media as to why he didn’t put up the schoolchildren at a safe place, he came up with a philosophical reply: “Life is uncertain; anything can happen to any person anytime”.
