PATNA: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav today demanded death penalty for the NGO chief Brajesh Thakur after around three dozen girls were raped at the Muzaffarpur-based shelter home run by his organization.
“We want Brajesh Thakur to be hanged till death. If you see the number of crimes in Bihar has increased in the past one year. Cases of gangrape are being reported back to back from various districts of the state,” Yadav said talking to news agency ANI.
Yadav wondered over the way the authorities concerned allegedly tried to hush up the case by acting late on the report of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
“Even after the report of Child Commission was out no action was taken. FIR was lodged 2 months after Tata Insititute report came and in that too name of prime accused Brajesh Thakur was missing. Somehow Brajesh has been a close aide of Nitish Ji,” Tejashwi alleged.
Further, he sought for the whereabouts of a destitute girl who had all the information about the incident and apprehended he might have been killed.
“The girl who had all the information has been shifted to a shelter home in Madhubani. After being shifted there is no information about her. We don’t know if she is dead or has been killed or is missing,” Tejashwi added.
