PATNA: Former JD-U chief Sharad Yadav today met RJD chief Lalu Prasad in prison first time after the latter was jailed in fodder scam case.
Yadav accompanied by JVM chief Babulal Marandi and another JVM leader Pradeep Yadav today reached the Ranchi central jail and met the RJD president today.
During the meeting which lasted for some 10 minutes, the leaders reportedly discussed about strengthening the opposition unity.
“Country’s democracy and unit is in danger today and we are trying to save them,” Yadav told the media soon after the meeting.
The JD-U taunted by terming it an exercise by Yadav to ensure his RS berth through RJD support.
“Sharad Yadav has met Lalu Prasad in jail in search of a Rajya Sabha seat…he is desperate for that,” JD-U spokesperson Neeraj Kumar told the media today.
