PATNA: Do you remember Uday Narayan Chaudhary?
Yes, he is former Bihar assembly speaker who suddenly went into oblivion after he was trounced by his arch-rival Jitan Ram Manjhi in the last 2015 assembly elections.
But, why we are talking about Chaudhary? As such, the man has set a unique pre-condition before the BJP to let his boss chief minister Nitish Kumar to join their camp.
“What can the BJP offer to Nitish Kumar? Can it offer the post of the Prime Minister? If that’s OK, we can request him to join the BJP camp,” said Chaudhary, talking to the media in Sheikhpura on Sunday.
Finding lack of “suitable” posts for Kumar in the NDA, Chaudhary said the post of the President would have suited Kumar. “But, this post too is filled now,” he remarked.

He said the maximum the BJP can offer to the Bihar chief minister is a key ministerial berth in the Narendra Modi government but such posts are nothing new to him.
“Nitish Kumar is the lone chief minister from Bihar who holds the privilege of becoming the Union minister for fourth times in the past,” he remarked, virtually rubbishing reports of Kumar joining the NDA.
He, however, revealed there are many key “vacancies” in the opposition camp and Kumar amply fits those positions, indirectly referring to him as a potential Prime Ministerial candidate.
He also hit out at the BJP for taking full credit for implementing the GST in the country adding GST is the ‘contribution’ of the Congress.
