PATNA: In a huge embarrassment to the ruling regime, Bihar opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav has refused to share space with chief minister Nitish Kumar and other NDA leaders at the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) being held in Patna.
Instead, he chose to visit the family of the slain jawan Mujahid Khan who laid down his life fighting for the country.
“Today I was scheduled to attend the CPA conference in Patna but now according my first priority to meet the family of the dead soldier,” Tejashwi tweeted today.
He said as an Opposition leader it is his moral responsibility to respect the public sentiments and stand with the family in distress.
He also hit out at the NDA government for passing “derogatory remarks” towards the slain soldier.
Although Tejashwi claimed his “priority” to visit slain soldier’s family the reason behind his absence from the CPA meet, insiders say he was totally against sharing space with the chief minister or other NDA leaders at the meet.
More than 80 dignitaries from 38 legislative bodies of the country and several from international regions of CPA are attending the conference organized for the first time in Bihar.
Tejashwi also ridiculed the presence of Bihar’s deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi at the CPA meet and alleged he is having ‘tainted’ image.
