PATNA: Bihar opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav on Monday declared a formal war on chief minister Nitish Kumar pledging to “break” the throne that the latter had allegedly usurped unscrupulously.
Tejashwi who is a lawmaker from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) headed by his father Lalu Prasad sounded the war cry on Monday by posting a poem on his Twitter handle.
“I swear by the soil of my homeland Bihar to break the throne that you (Nitish Kumar) have usurped through unscrupulous means and I dare your stick-wielding cops to stop me,” Tejashwi wrote on his Twitter today.
The declaration came shortly after dozens of RJD leaders and workers were badly beaten by cops while they were leading a protest march on the streets of Patna on Sunday against deteriorating law and order, price rise and anti-people policies of the state government.

Quite many of the workers sustained serious wounds in the police baton-charge and had to be admitted to the hospital.
Tejashwi said the state government had earned embarrassment for itself by resorting to baton-charge on RJD leaders protesting peacefully on the streets and asked the chief minister to tender public apology.
He also asked the chief minister to initiate action against the cops resorting to baton-charge without any provocation.
