PATNA: Prominent Hindu saint Morari Bapu who has been reciting Ram Katha for over five decades wants the Ram temple to be constructed at Ayodhaya only through consensus, and not with controversies or conflicts.
“Ram temple should be constructed at Ayodhaya but only through consensus. There shouldn’t be any scope for controversy over it,” Bapu told the media on Thursday.
Bapu who is a renowned exponent of Ram Charit Mans is currently at Simaria in Bihar’s Begusarai district to give religious discourses.
He said the archeologists have stumbled upon proofs of a temple at Ayodhaya and the sentiments of millions of Hindus too are associated with this religious place.
He said he was not naware why the Court had delayed hearing in the case and said he was least interested in its political aspects.
“Lekin mera ye manna hai ki saath me milkar, sabko samjhakar samwad ka dhwaja fahrana chahiye (I am of the opinion that the issue should be sorted out by carrying along everyone and with consensus),” he added.
The observation comes amid remarks by Union minister and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) leader Upendra Kushwaha that the BJP was raking up the temple issue just for electoral gains and has announced to oppose it tooth and nail.
Kushwaha whose RLSP is a key ally of the NDA made these observation on Thursday while addressing the concluding day “Chintan Shivir” of his party.
On Thursday, BJP parliamentarian from Bahraich in Uttar Pradesh, Savitribai Phule resigned from the party, charging the party leadership with pursuing “divisive politics” in another setback to the NDA ahead of the upcoming LS polls.
