PATNA: Thousands of written answer sheets of Class 10 students which had gone missing from the strong room of a government school in Bihar have been found dumped at a scrap shop.
According to reports in local media, the missing answer scripts were found at the scrap shop owned by Pappu Kumar Gupta. The man has now been arrested.
Gupta reportedly told the police that he had bought these answer sheets from the school peon for Rs 8,500. The peon too has been arrested.
“The school peon called me up on my cell phone and asked me to buy scraps. Subsequently, I picked up these answer-sheets packed in 216 bags and returned on an auto-rickshaw. I paid Rs 8,500 for buying these copies,” the arrested scrap shop owner was quoted as telling interrogators.
These answer sheets had gone missing from the strong room of SS Girls’ Senior Secondary High School located in Gopalganj district
More than 1.7 million students had appeared at the matriculation examination conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB).
