PATNA: A man caught entering into a villager’s home at the dead of night and mistaken as “thief” ultimately returned home with a bride in Bihar. The weird incident took place at Baradih village in Rohtas district on Thursday.
As per reports, Vishal Singh, a clerk in Indian Army, was having an affair with Lakshmina Kumari for the past five years.
Recently, the youth had come to his village on leave and wished to meet his sweetheart. On Wednesday night he clandestinely entered into his girlfriend’s home to meet her while her family members were asleep.
However, as luck would have it, the girl’s family members woke up after noticing some unusual activities in the home and to their surprise found a man in their room at odd hours.
They hurriedly raised an alarm after which the local villagers rushed to the spot and caught the man, suspecting him to be a “thief”.
Finding the mob going berserk to thrash him, the Army staff instantly revealed who he was and how he had come to meet his sweetheart. The girl too revealed she was in love with the youth.
The very next morning, the local villagers held a court over the issue. As both boy and girl were adult, the village court decided to marry them then and there.
Within no time, a local priest was called to conduct their marriage rituals as the youth eventually returned home with a bride, leading to a happy end.
“As both were major and the family consented for their marriage, the police had nothing to do except for blessing the couple for a happy married life,” a local police official Pramod Kumar Singh told the local media today.
