PATNA: Bihar BJP president Nityanand Rai has landed in major controversy by threatening to chop off hands of those who raise fingers at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“If anyone raises fingers at PM Modi, we together will either break it or chop off the hands itself,” Rai told a rally in Patna on Monday.
He said Modi faced challenging times in his life to come to this position and lead the country.
“This is a matter of pride of all of us and anything spoken against him will not be tolerated either,” Rai threatened.
Confronted by media persons, Rai later clarified that his statement was just want to warn people and critics.
Rai who is also a party MP was made the state BJP president last year after the tenure of his predecessor Mangal Pandey came to an end.
He has chosen to cause to cause a dent in Yadav vote bank of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, a mighty politician which the NDA has failed to tame despite all efforts initiated in the past three decades.
