Woman in red clothes lies on tracks to end life but driver halts train thinking as ‘danger sign’

PATNA: Red colour has been the symbol of danger but you will be surprised to know that it was ultimately able to save a woman!

Reports quoting local media said the woman dressed in red salwar-kameez was lying on the railway tracks in between Bhagalpur and Sabour stations on Sunday in a bid to commit suicide.

However, the driver of the speeding Dhulian passenger train which runs from Jaynagar to Kolkata saw the red object lying on the tracks from afar and hastily applied the emergency brake, apprehending it as “danger signal”.

Instantly, the information was given to the local police which rushed to the spot and took the woman to the police station.

Witnesses said the police counseled the woman at the police station before handing her to her husband.

According to the police, the woman had gone to railway tracks commit suicide after a family dispute but applying of emergency brake by the train driver saved her life.

“I wanted death but got life. I can’t believe it,” the woman told the police.
