PATNA: A youth was beaten to pulp and had his private parts chopped off with a sharp-edged weapon before being done to death along with his girlfriend in Bihar in what police say is a clear case of “honour killing”.
Police said the victim youth Prince Kumar, son of Yogeshwar Prasad Kushwaha from Aurangabad district, had clandestinely entered the house of the girl Komal Kumari, a grade 10 student, at Varuna village in Patna district on Monday night when the family members noticed some unusual activities in girl’s room. During the search of girl’s room, the youth was found hiding in her room and was tied to rope.
Subsequently, he was badly thrashed with his mouth gagged by girl’s brother and other family members for hours during which his private parts were also chopped off with a kitchen knife before being killed by a farming implement, media reports said.
The horrible killing came to light after the police recovered the body from near a bush and his private parts missing from his body. The police have arrested the girl’s brother and mother in connection with the incident whereas the girl’s father Om Prakash Singh has been absconding since the incident.
“The arrested accused told us they warned the youth against meeting her but he continued visiting her home. So, they beat him to death and threw his body in a bush outside the villager,” the local city superintendent of police, Patna (east) Rajendra Singh Bheel has told the media.
According to the police, angry family members killed the girl after murdering her boyfriend. While the youth’s body was thrown outside the village inside a bush, the girl’s body was thrown on the railway track to give it the shape of train accident.
As per the report, they were in love right since they were studying in the same school. Subsequently, the parents shifted the girl to Patna for study but the boy followed her here too. When they came to know about their affairs, family members brought the girl back to village yet they continued meeting here too which angered the parents.
