PATNA: Two youths were arrested after they got themselves indulged in a sort of “car racing” with a district magistrate (DM) allegedly under the influence of alcohols.
Reports said the Gaya district magistrate Kumar Ravi was going to review security arrangements in view of the ongoing panchayat elections when the youths riding a Maruti Alto car suddenly got themselves indulged in car racing and tried to overtake the official’s beacon-fitted car.
Witnesses said the youths got involved in bizarre racing for quite some time until they hit the DM’s car in a bid to overtake it near a roundabout at Bodh Gaya.
They were soon taken into custody and handed over to the Bodh Gaya police.
The police are now investigating if they had ulterior motive or were just trying to overtake official’s car out of sheer curiosity and fun.
Reports said arrested youths were drunk and were returning from Dhanbad in Jharkhand. Both belong to the Gaya district.
