PATNA: 33 percent of the total candidates in the poll fray for four Bihar Lok Sabha seats which go to polls in the first phase have tainted image, according to a report of the Bihar Election Watch (BIW) and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).
They have come to the conclusion after analyzing the poll affidavits of 42 candidates out of total 44 in the poll fray from these four seats.
“Of 14 candidates with tainted image, 13 have serious criminal cases,” says the report. Of them, a maximum of five candidates with criminal antecedents are in the fray from Nawada LS seat.
Similarly, three candidates each from Gaya, Jamui and Aurangabad face serious criminal charges against them.
These four LS seats go to polls in the first phase on April 11.
