PATNA: The state government in Bihar has banned use of mobile phones by the officials at the meetings to be held by the chief minister and ministers.
An order to this effect was issued on Thursday by general administration department’s principal secretary Aamir Subhani.
The decision was taken after the officials were caught busy with their cell phones during the recent high-level meetings.
“After due consideration, it has been decided that at high-level meetings, carrying of mobile phones will henceforth be banned,” reads a letter issued on Thursday.
Recently at a meeting held by the chief minister, quite many officials were caught on camera playing games or surfing the internet on their cell phones, causing much embarrassment to the state government.
