The “tit-for-tat” move is all set to reflect during the cabinet expansion on Sunday as there are reports of only JD-U leaders taking oath as the ministers.

As per media reports, at least eight JD-U ministers will be taking oath at the Raj Bhawan on Sunday. Among the names doing the rounds include Ashok Chaudhary, Sanjay Jha, Niraj Kumar, Shyam Rajak, Narendra Narayan Yadav, Bima Bharti, Ram Sevak Singh, Lakeshmeshwar Rai, Ranju Geeta Singh and Lesy Singh.

Although a few vacancies had occurred after four ministers were elected as Lok Sabha Members while one minister resigned in connection with Muzaffarpur care home sex scandal but the way the chief minister is accommodating only JD-U leaders in his cabinet has triggered various speculations.

This will be the first cabinet expansion of the Nitish Kumar government when he formed his new government with the BJP in July 2017 after breaking alliance with the RJD.

Reports said the BJP is keeping a close watch on the situation and has communicated the matter to top central leadership in New Delhi.

The cabinet expansion comes just two days after the JD-U was given raw deal in the Modi government, prompting Nitish Kumar to stay away from the Modi cabinet.

The BJP and the JD-U had won 17 and 16 LS seats respectively in Bihar but the JD-U was offered only one berth in Modi cabinet whereas five from the BJP became ministers from the state.
