Bihar’s popular milk brand Sudha Dairy now to sell goat milk too

PATNA: Bihar’s popular brand Sudha milk cooperative which markets its products under the label “Sudha Dairy” has planned to sell goat milk keeping in view its increasing market demand.
Reports quoting local media and officials said to begin with the Sudha Dairy will sell the goat milk in 200 ml bottle with the objective to promote goat farming. The could hit the stand by this year end.
It was also learnt that Union minister for animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries Giriraj Singh too is very keen about this. Several rounds of meetings had already taken place between his ministry and dairy project officials.
It is said the goat milk production will first start from Patna dairy and depending upon its success it, other dairy plants running at Bhagalpur, Barauni and Muzaffarpur too will subsequently start its production.
Experts say goat milk has many health benefits. For example, the goat milk is easier to digest, boasts of healing properties and is good for cholesterol.
Health experts also say goat milk contains protein, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and vitamins A, B, C and D more than cow milk.
It also strengthens the immune system and is said to be very helpful in treating Dengu disease.
