PATNA: Mosquito has gone mightier in Bihar, literally.
Believe it or not, a man in Bihar has been making rounds of the police officials for the past two days to get a case registered for the death his relative who allegedly died from dengue fever.
Archana Kumari, a resident of Ashok Nagar in Patna, had allegedly died from dengue last week.
At first she had been admitted to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for treatment but was later shifted to a private hospital after her condition deteriorated. She died ultimately.
Her close relative Abhijit Kumar blamed negligence on the part of the PMCH doctors and rushed to the local Pirbhore police station on Friday to register a case in this regard.
According to media reports, Abhijit was shocked and surprised when a police official concerned asked him to go to the police station under which jurisdiction the mosquito had bitten the victim.
The man then rushed to the Kankarbagh police station to register the case but was told to visit the Pirbahore police station since the negligence of the PMCH he is talking to falls under its jurisdiction.
Harried victim family later brought the matter to the notice of Patna’s senior superintendent of police and then Bihar’s director general of police yet the case has not been registered so far.
