Cruel Bihar man pushes pregnant wife, daughter into flooded Kosi after dowry dispute

PATNA: A man in Bihar threw his pregnant wife and three-year-old daughter into the Kosi river angry at not getting enough dowry from his in-laws during the time of wedding.
The bizarre incident took place in Saharsa district of Bihar on Saturday night.
Reports said the accused Pankaj Singh had told his wife Samata Devi to drop at her parent’s home after quarrels over dowry in the day.
The woman believed his words and sat on his bike with her little daughter. However, as he reached near Katyayani temple in Mansi, the man pushed both his wife and daughter into the flooded Kosi from a bridge and fled the scene.
Victim’s father Kamleshwari Singh alleged the accused had been torturing his daughter right since the marriage five years back.
The police have registered the case and raids are on to nab the accused persons. Soon after getting information, the police engaged divers to search for their bodies but failed to get.
