Exit poll predictions part of larger conspiracy to ‘manipulate or replace EVMs’: Mamata
All exit polls have predicted a huge mandate for Modi-led NDA
Kolkata: As most of the exit polls have predicted a clean sweep for the Narendra Modi-led NDA in the just-concluded Lok Sabha elections, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee sees a larger conspiracy to “manipulate” the mandate under the garb of such majority talks.
“I don’t trust Exit Poll gossip. The game plan is to manipulate or replace thousands of EVMs through this gossip,” Mamata Banerjee has tweeted.
Further, she appealed to all Opposition parties to be united and fight this battle together with courage.
Mamata’s reactions came shortly after most of the exit polls showed landslide victory for the NDA with one of the surveys even giving as many as 365 seats to the NDA in the 545-member Lok Sabha.

In a related development, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu called on Mamata on Monday and discussed the post-poll strategy.
Naidu’s meeting with Mamata comes shortly after he had met UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, NCP president Sharad Pawar and RJD leader Sharad Yadav in New Delhi.
He has also met Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Singh Yadav and BSP chief Miss Mayawati.
In another significant political development, Akhilesh Yadav met Maywati to discuss the political situation amid the exit polls predicting return of PM Modi with a huge majority.
During the hour-long meeting, the two leaders were believed to have made assessment of their poll prospects but decided to wait for the results come, rather than giving reactions over exit polls.
