Manjhi wants himself to be projected as Grand Alliance’s CM candidate

PATNA: Former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi wants himself to be projected as the opposition Grand Alliance’s chief ministerial face amid the main opposition RJD declaring Tejashwi Yadav as its CM candidate.

“I served as the chief minister of Bihar for nine months with honesty and integrity and would love to continue on this job if given the chance,” Manjhi who heads the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) told the media on Thursday.

He said during his nine-month tenure, he took a number of significant decisions.

“While I was able to implement some of them, many were partly implemented by his successor Nitish Kumar,” Manjhi claimed adding he had the political experience to run the state.

“I will work with honesty if given the chance,” he declared.

There are some six parties in the Grand Alliance. Apart from the HAM and the RJD, the other parties joining the Grand Alliance are the Congress, Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP), Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) and the CPI-ML.
