PATNA: Rampaging criminals kidnapped son of a doctor in Bihar, causing panic in the area. The miscreants have sought a ransom of Rs60 lakh (rupee six million) in lieu of releasing the victim, victim parents have said.
Victim’s father Sashibhushan Prasad Gupta is a homeopathic doctor based at Patna.
The victim Satyam, 15, a resident of Rupaspur locality of the state capital, had gone to attend coaching class in the locality on Thursday when he was kidnapped by the miscreants.
The family came to know about his kidnapping when the miscreants called up Satyam’s parents on Friday and sought ransom for his safe release. They also threatened them with dire consequences if they report the incident to the police.
The police have detained a few suspects in connection with the incident but are yet to go near the gang and rescue the victim.
This is the second incident of kidnapping in the past two days. Earlier on Thursday, the miscreants had kidnapped a Gramin Bank manager Jayvardhan Kumar from Sheikhpura district while he was returning home after office in the evening.
Yesterday, the criminals had shot dead a villager who was a key witness in the murder of a senior BJP leader Visheshwar Ojha. The incident took place in Bhojpur district
