PATNA: RJD’s wait for early bail to its party chief Lalu Prasad got further delayed on Friday as the Supreme Court sought response from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) before issuing any order in this regard, media reports said today.
A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi asked the CBI to respond within two weeks on Prasad’s plea challenging the January 10 verdict of the Jharkhand High Court rejecting bail to him in these cases, news agency PTI reported on Friday.
Prasad is currently lodged in Birsa Munda Central Jail in Ranchi, serving prison term in three separate fodder scam cases.
The case remains to fraudulent withdrawal of money from treasuries in Animal Husbandry department in early 1990’s in united Bihar.
