Wedding stopped in Bihar after guests not served mutton

PATNA: Angry villagers stopped a wedding in Bihar after the bride side didn’t serve mutton to the guests as wedding feast.
The incident took place at Barjhalla village under Pranpur police station in Katihar district earlier this week.
Reports said Pramaod Rai, a resident of Bijli village under Dandkhora block, had led a wedding procession to the house of Radhika Kumari, bride, when the some villagers began demanding mutton as wedding feast.
They went out of control after the bride family expressed their inability to serve mutton citing their poor financial condition, according to media reports.
Eventually the villagers indulged in violence and stopped the wedding till mutton is served to them.
They also began assaulting the guests after which both the groom and bride took shelter at the local police station to save their life.
The police have registered a case against nine villagers and raids are on to nab the absconding accused persons.
